Golden Sands Holt

homepage
Welcome to the beautiful lagoon and the golden beach of our Island home. This is Golden Sands Holt, where we live and play along with our friends the wavedancers (dolphins). Life isn't always easy even in this tropical oasis; storms and dangers, both land and water, abound.
In our time, Chieftess Faircove leads us. Never have we known an outsider. There are no trolls, and humans are a threat yet unknown. Never have we known the want or need of brightmetal, and never have we known the sting of a weapon to bring death. There is sting enough in the many creatures of the waters and those that lurk deep in the unexplored jungles.
Hidden River Holt         Welcome to Hidden River Holt, a place of cast outs and wanderers. A place we all call home. We are a small tribe and currently have a variety of adoptable characters available for play. Visit our webpage to learn more about us.
Nightflyers' Ridge Holt

homepage
Nightflyer's Ridge has a rich history that started when Flintfox and his recognized lifemate Clearwind led a small group from the mad leadership of Two-Spear. There was much unrest in that holt, dangers from within as well as without, so a small group left to find a safer quieter place to live their lives and raise their cubs.
Nightflyers' Ridge is named for the large owls that nest in the cliffs above the new holt. A handful of turns after arriving the first cub was born to the holt. In his 10th turn that young elf changed the direction of the holt and all the elves there forever. He aided a fledgling owlet that had tumbled from the craggy ledge of it's nest. He coaxed the bird, who was very nearly as tall as he, to eat and be calm. In that first bonding the life of every elf was changed forever.
As seasons came and went more cubs were born into the tribe, more and more often bonding with the great owls in the ridge above the holt as well as the wolves with whom they shared a blood link. With the passing of time both Elf and Owl came to depend on each other more than that first young elf could have ever forseen.
We now live in the time of Heartflame, blood of seven chiefs. Her father was chief before her and, Sweetstream, her mother wanders in and out of the holt her life seeming unsettled since the death of her soulmate even though they were not lifemated. Every few turns a new face arrives in the holt, sometimes in the company of Sweetstream, each is welcomed and the tribe grows still. Only those born of the decendants of the original members of the tribe carry the magic to bond with the owls. Never in the history of the holt has an outsider bonded with one of the large owls.
Tall Oaks Holt

homepage
Tall Oaks is an ElfQuest based RolePlay by Email Holt located in the cradle of a mountain ridge. A finger of low land pushes into the range, high cliffs surrounding the forest on three sides and open forest and meadows spreading out on the fourth.
Wolfriders founded the holt, but as time wore on many died (captured and killed, or just fallen ill in the time when there was no healer), other left never to return. These were hard times for the wolfriders and eventually they were joined by wanderers or those who had left, or even lost their holts. Plainsrunners were among the first of the non-wolfrider elves to join Tall Oaks, CatElves followed and even a SunFolk or two found a home in this sheltered holt.
But there are dangers, from above the gliders come, hating the wolfblooded elves that live in the forest. They attack, taking prisoners and sometimes killing. The humans nearby worship the gliders as sky spirits and they too hate the forest demons their gods attack. They set traps, an hunt for those they can gift or sacrifice to their sky spirits. They are afraid to travel too deep into the demon forests though. Their sky spirits can not protect them there and a great price has always been paid by those foolish enough to challenge the demons on their home ground.
Trolls also abide here, they seem rather neutral in the affairs of elves, though they themselves find no fondness for the Gliders whom they have escaped from. They will trade with the elves of Tall Oaks when they have need of things, but would just as soon steal what they need as trade for it.
